The cubicle, the suit and the tie just isnt for everyone anymore and for damn good reason. Forget the economy, the fact is that there are millions, billions of people out there, and a number of them are gunning for that cubicle seat. Chances are, some of them are better than you so you end up having to push and fight and strain just to get that seat and then when youre there, you realize that this really isnt what you want. Thats not what I want. If Im going to fight for something, if Im going to commit time that I could be spending with friends to work, Im going to aim for a job I want damn it. Im going to fight for something thatll make me feel good to win.

There are a large number of reasons why I dont want to spend the rest of my life working for the man, as the song goes.

I want to work to make myself rich, not my boss.
Forget the taxes the amount of money anyone gets in a cubicle job has been filtered through management and that never works out to a respectable number. Management usually looks at you over the top of your cubicle wall, maybe with glasses, almost always balding and theyre usually described by several colorful terms. Sure, there are good managers or bosses out there but they arent too common. For the most part, their purpose is to have presence, to motivate by being there while you do all the grunt work, like the general to a bunch of privates digging the trench. General gets the medal, the privates get shot. You get paid some piddling wage and because you worked amazingly well, your manager gets promoted. Thats not for me.

Roads Were Made to Make Things Easier, not Harder
With so many people on the road, tons of them jerks, its just not fun to drive to a job where you get paid less than you deserve. Commuting to a job where minimum wage is a recommendation and not a law is even worse. Both methods of getting your cage are also expensive oils only gotten cheaper for a second, in terms of the economy. In fact, its already starting to climb, ready to make a nice meal of a paycheck. At worst, I and many others can actually end up paying to go to work. Thats just embarrassing.

There is No Rain Check
This is probably what I hate the most about a job. Unless youre working from home and sometimes, even if you are, you cant just take a break because you have a headache youve got to power through, sometimes getting sick because you do, so you can meet the deadline that your overpaid manager set for you. Then he gets promoted and some other jerk can take his place and abuse me. Thats not my idea of fun. Thats not even my idea of work. Thats not even my idea of getting beat up at least when you get beat up, you can just rest through it. Sure it hurts, but you dont have to punch yourself.
